Les Bêtes de la Mer

On the lady's lefthand side, (our right)

one arthropod for doll-shut

eye and one for low-slung

nipple, the nipple just an amputated

eye, the eye a slender nipple, with flailing

limbs butterfly-pinned to sutured

lashes in reluctant boon

to modesty.

On our left, the arthropod's wielding

a spear, aimed at his foe,

the champion of modesty,

but the bow his spear is crossing seems,

in turn, to cross her moony eye, caught dreaming

of a diamond arrowhead resting

in shadow of its sickled

quiver.

On her left, the primodial vortex, sunset

orange/coral, superimposed

and coin-scratched out of

twilight/ocean blue.  On our left, two blades

of seagrass:  baby-head of floating teeth and purple-

headed fairy combed and billowing

against a seething

plasma wall.
